Spring Forward

Nope, it’s not clock-changing time yet – but winter quickly brightened today when I saw the Pantone color forecast for Spring 2015 (it’s been out since October, but I just got around to taking a good look).

See the entire color report here on Pantone.com

This has always been one of my favorite inspirations as a graphic designer, but it’s relevant to home and fashion too. A quote from the Pantone description about the forecast reads “Many feel compelled to be connected around the clock because we are afraid we’ll miss something important. There is a growing movement to step out and create ‘quiet zones’ to disconnect from technology and unwind, giving ourselves time to stop and be still. Color choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme, taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically manipulated. ” I think that definitely speaks to many of us who are initially forced to disconnect in this lifestyle, but end up considering it a gift.

Do these colors evoke nature to you? How about the “quiet zone” of a particular post?
