Drexel Hack #3: Dining with Kids

I’ve been hunting for more hacks and ideas to archive here on Adaptation House, and here’s another great one taken (with permission of course) from Trailing Houses.

Waterproof seats! Many thanks to Amanda Sheppard Turk for permission to share your image and AWESOME IDEA! Amanda purchased laminated fabric by the yard from several Etsy vendors to temporarily re-upholster her Drexel dining chairs (just unscrew the seat base underneath and use a staple gun to secure the fabric over the original). She said she used about 3/4 of a yard per chair.  This is a great idea for those of us with kids, as well as anyone who doesn’t love the default “Queen Anne” fabric options. So, in other words, everyone.

If you’re an Amazon Prime addict like me, you can also order iron-on vinyl (in matte or glossy finish) and give this treatment to any fabric yourself. For more specific yardage, it’s also available on fabric.com by the yard.
